Hello, when I resize an XviD video from 576 x 240 to 720 x 300 (for DVDR) in TMPGEnc it seems to be using a nearest neighbor method rather than interpolating the result.
Any ideas on how to achieve a better result?

720 x 300 ? this is not a valid DVD resolution. If you want to create a DVD compliant mpeg2 file use one of the templates.

I was suspecting something like that, I am using "Full Screen (keep aspect ratio)" in TMPGEnc so maybe it is blacking out to pad it. I am just about to author it so it may complain. If that is the case I may have to crop it down to 16:9.

Just use a template it will automatically resize it to DVD resolution, if you use full screen keep aspect ratio it will encode black bars top and bottom to maintain the aspect ratio of the original divx.

I am using the template however I would like to try using virtualdub instead as I am not convinced that TMPGEnc's resizing appropriate. Virtualdub appears to have the bicubic options, however I can't get it to output to mpeg2 (even with Virtualdub-Mpeg2).
Still playing around with this. Thanks for your suggestions so far!
