  2. You are not giving enough info on what you are doing, thats why no ones posted any replies, if your going from Divx or Xvid with Tmpgenc, then you should not have any probs, what files are you converting from ect, please explain more.

You don't give enough information. We need a little bit more info (audio codec, etc) in order to be able to give an answer. Still, we can gues what happens, so...

I had a similar problem. I encoded (or transcoded) the audio to AC3 format from a wav file that worked fine, and the MPEG2 file did not have any sound. I used BeSweet, and I played a little bit with the values I could change. Finaly, I found the problem. The AC3 file has to be coded at a specific bitrate to be DVD compatible: 384k.

It might be possible that this is your problem to.

  7. Hey guys,

I have a similar problem to the one the original poster's facing.

I've got a .mpg file which I assume is in SVCD format because the screen size is 480X480. When played in Windows Media 9, media player searches for a new codec, downloads it, then says there's an error d/l the codec. This process happens even after I restart media player. The video plays, but the audio seems to be in slow-mo, and I can't fast-forward the clip.

I tried to re-encode it in TMPGEnc and the video came out fine, I could fast-forward but there's no sound!

Am I missing an audio codec? Ive got Nimo, DivX already installed.

Media Player tells me the video codec is Cyberlink Video/SP, but it doesn't know what the audio codec is. Is there any way of finding out?

    thanks!
