so, in your expert opinion, which is better?
    a) the quality of an Svcd, but able to only fit on episode of a 39 ep series on one cd-r

    or

b)the lower quality of a vcd but able to fit 3 eps, and a menu?

    thanks!

Sorry, who is this question aimed at?

Surely the important thing is which is better to you, unless you're making discs for everyone.....?

DVD is better than SVCD which is better than VCD.

As for number of disks, CD's are cheap.

Always go for better quality, your time is worth something... Why waste it on an inferior product?

  5. I go for quality myself. But that question really has no correct answer. Different people would qualify "better" in different ways.

  6. I my expert opinion.....

    CVD

    Why ??

    Cause I said so.....
How long could we maintain? I wondered. How long until one of us starts raving and jabbering at this boy? What will he think then?

    I agree CVD...

    REASON...

Because we will all have DVD burners sometime and CVDs are easily moved to DVD-R with no re-encoding except for sound (maybe)...

Visually, SVCD gonna look in a good TV screen somehow sharper. This is "better" for many users.

CVD has less blocks (if you compare it to an SVCD using the same bitrate) and you can use it "as is" on DVD-R discs. This is "overall better" for other users.
As a CD based format, CVD is less compatible SVCD, expecially for US users. From the other hand, the framesize of CVD (352 X 576/480) is 100% compatible with DVD-Video, while SVCD's framesize is not compatible at all.
