  4. If the original mpg files weren't created by TMPG that may be the problem. For some reason TMPG supposedly has problems with the merge/cut function with mpgs it didn't create. Try making DVD compliant files out of each part separately and then merging them with TMPG.

  6. If your film source is an svcd then you have two or three discs each with an aveseq.mpg file. When you open TMPG close out the wizard. For the video source choose your aveseq.mpg from the first cd. It will show up in the video and audio source boxes. Give it an appropriate name in the output file box which reflects it is the first file, say video1.mpg. Now click on the load button and choose a DVD template, PAL if you use the PAL system, NTSC if you are in a region 1 country. Now click on setting. Click on the video tab and at the bottom of the window you will see "motion search precision." Choose "high quality slow." Close out the setting window and start encoding. The result will be a DVD compliant file. Now do the same thing for your next file giving it the name video2.mpg. When you are finished merge the files in the right order with the merge/cut tool. Let us know if that works.

  9. If you have installed the mpeg2 plugin for TPMG go to the environmental settings in TMPG and make sure the plugin has a priority of at least 1.

  11. Try this guide instead;https://www.videohelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm. Download the tools needed from the links in the guide. Follow the directions for making a DVD. See if that helps.
