Windows XP question...

Just a quick question - how do I make my PC go right past the welcome/logon screen and just start right into Windows? I am the only user, and I am finding it a bit of a pain to have to click my name to get Windows running....

When you install wxp you need to just press enter when it prompts you to enter a password.

There isn't a password on my account anyway. It used to be OK but it's just started happening today.

Any other suggestions?

go to start, settings, control pannel, then into users accounts- tweak around in there and it should solve your problem

There's a neat little auto-login utility in the XP Power Tools. Search for it at MS.

Note though you are only allowed to have one user, they must not have a password, and guest logon must be turned off.

If you download TweakUI from MS like Mats said, then you can choose a user. A little better, but Microsoft does not support TweakUI so don't call support if something is wrong.
