  1. I have seen some other sites with walk throughs about this, but none I have seen fit my needs exactly. I want to rip with DVD Decrypter, and then without using IfoEdit or any similar products, I want to rip only to menu and main movie files with 6 ch audio and subtitles.

Ive been using DVD2ONE to do my resizing, but I would like menus now and Im not sure if DVD2ONE can do it. Any tutorials, other posts, (I tried a search with no luck) websites, etc.

Thanks for your help in advance.

  4. I don't want all the files Baldrick, but thank you for your help.

With the IC7 movie only rip, how do you do that? I'm not familar with the software, and I'm not sure how to rip only the movie but keep it as a .ifo, .bup, and .vob. Any help on this?

  5. First, what do you have against IFOEdit? It's a great and very useful program. You question is sort of like asking "I want to cut some paper, but I do not want to use scissors, how can I do it with XYZ." You need to use the correct tool for the job. If you don't like IFOEdit check out: DVD toolbox and/or DVD Shrink.

You can use either to strip out unwanted material (video, audio, subs, extras, etc). Once you have the stripped VIDEO_TS folder you can either burn it (if less than 4.7GB) or run it through DVD2ONE, IC, etc. (or just do it all w/ DVD Shrink).

    1) Rip full DVD (in DVD Decrypter choose 'mode|file' and select all files. For smartripper choose backup mode, and choose all files).

    2) Strip out unwanted material with IFOEdit, DVD toolbox, or DVD shrink.

    3) Either burn or run through transcoder.

There are several guides on doing this here and at doom9.org The IFOEdit main url also has some guides on this, however it recently went paypal access only.

  6. Thanks for the detailed post Vejita-sema. I guess it is kinda wierd not to use Ifo-edit, but its setup is confusing to me. I will try DVDShrink instead as you suggested, and then just make the extras still pictures only- do you think that would work? After I run through that, would I need to use DVD2ONE, or would it already be small enough to burn? Thanks
