Need player that can do; DVD-R(W), DVD+R(W), and VHS.

Im looking for a DVD player that plays, DVD-R(W), DVD+R(W), and VHS. Progressive scan would also be a plus.

I have a Sony SLV D300P which Im going to return becuase its starting to freeze up with my DVD-R and DVD+RW discs. The mfg specs say it can do all of these formats but Ive found it not so 90% of the time. I know its not the discs becuase they play fine in my other DVD player; Sony NS415.

I need a replaced ment that won't crap out and can handle all formats. My price range is <$250. I think that there are many players that fit this requirement and many that claim to but can't.

Samsung SVDVD3E? Panasonc? JVC?..............

I just bought the Zenith XBV343.

So far it plays DVD-R, DVD+RW and VHS. It would not play VCD until I enabled the Hack from the XBV243 model listed on this site. This might be the one!! I will test some more including a Macrovision hack.

I wonder why it doesn't already come with the VCD enabled?

Only $150 at best buys.
