hi!
i want to puchase the philips dvdr80. i saw in it spec that it record onto dvd+r.
dvd players that read from dvd-r can read also from dvd+r?

none really, just two different approaches to the same end.
+R is popular in the USA.
-R is by far the most popular world wide.
Right now I would say get either.

The DVDR80 is currently available only in the US. The European version of this machine has been postponed due to problem(s) with the EPG implimentation.
Most DVD players that read +R should be able to read -R, but the converse is not always true especially for older players.Originally Posted by dudym
