  1. converted and burned a xvid.avi file to VCD CD using Nero. Played the converted file with BSplayer and it looked great and the sound was great. Went to play it in my standalone DVD player and again it looked great and the sound was good but it was upside down. I saw where people said to install ffdshow to resolve this, which I have done. My question would be, how and when do I use ffdshow in the process? Thanks in advance

Install it and try convert again with nero. But I would recommend try another tool to do the converting with, like tmpgenc or something else becasuse nero's built in encoder is not one of the better.
