  1. After Installing Cool Edit Pro on my PC, then restart, my pc wont recognize my DVR-A05. I Uninstalled Cool Edit, then still the same thing.

None of my authoring apps will recognize it, or in my control panel. What is going on.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem

    Thanks

What does your Device Manager say for your drives ? Did you check that the driver is still properly installed ?

Did the program affect/effect or change your ASPI layer and or drivers. Some programs do this, with or without your approval.

  4. I had the same thing happen to me a month ago...If you are running XP, then look for a feature somewhere in your control panel called, "system restore" You can set your computer settings to a few days earlier.

  5. Got a similar problem. A friend just bought a new Dell with a DVD+ burner. Device manager shows its installed properly. You can play anything in it also. But when you try to burn a disc, the computer doesnt recognize it has a dvd burner. Prassi and Nero wont do anything. When we called Dell they said its an issue with the software not the burner. But nothing recognizes it. I also uninstalled it from the device manger and it reinstalled itself but still no luck. Any suggestions??

Sorry that someone bought a DELL. Unplug the DVD drive from the IDE cable when system is off of course. Re-boot without the drive hooked up. Shut down, hook the IDE cable back-up to the drive. Turn system on and see what happens.

Just out of curiosity would shutting down the computer>unplugging the power>press the power button to discharge the capacitor>plug back in>and power up do the same thing. I just wondered if you knew, similar to after you update firmware??
