  1. I have been using DVD2One to do all my downsizing but I was wondering if the quality would be improved by using Instant Copy instead...

  2. Generally speaking yes. IC is a re-encoder, while DVD2One and DVD Shrink are transcoders. Re-encoding should always produce superior quaility to transcoding. Point of fact, for the 'best' results you should re-encode with either TMPGenc or CCE, as the IC encoder isn't all that good

yes it would, but it's one helluva job getting 4.37Gb

IC is just a glorified transcoder and would be the best if it could sort out it's sizing issue but at this present moment it ain't sorted

DVDShrink 2.3 gives very good quality so give it a try cos it's free

Yes and if you change, I recommend using the reg. hack and the lasted version of IC7 with Instant Copy Hidden Settings program to obtain best size estimates. I have GREAT success with this method up to 6/7GB or so movies. After that I use the big three to obtain quality. I have managed to overcome the reported size issues to within 100mb or so with the above programs, it works for me, you be the judge.
