I just bought a Pioneer A06 and I've been trying to use Nero (and Nero Express) to copy my MP3's from my hard drive to DVD -RW and +RW discs. When I try to do this it tells me I need a CD-R and it won't allow me to finish.
What am I doing wrong?![]()

Are you trying to make a disk that will play in your standalone player, or just backing up your files?
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round.

I'm trying to experiment with both. I tried making a music DVD and also tried a data DVD. Neither one worked.

Well, I just tried to burn some other file types (and folders) and stupid nero keeps telling me that I have to burn it all to CD-R and that I can't use DVD -RW or +RW. I didn't have any MP3 files this time. It's gotta be possible to backup data files to DVD!!!
What is going on? This is driving me nuts!!! -
OK. I *think* I found the problem. Before there was just one Pioneer device listed in Nero. Now there are two. One says DVD and one says CD. This occured after running some Nero speed tests. Very weird and not documented at all...
