Hi,
I keep testing SVCD encoding... I've tried to encode the same avi file with mpeg2 Quicktime encoder, cut it with mpgtx and build it with VCD builder (so, exactly the same procedure as before, except for the encoder) and the problem doesn't appear anymore.
So it seems this problem is really related to encoder used by ffmpegx/mmt.
If it may help to solve the problem...

I've found the culprit : i used to down the Qmin to 2 while keeping a 2500 bit rate (thinking i would get a better result). Using the default (6) solves the problem.Originally Posted by major
While i'm here, Major, could it be possible to do some checking of the bitrate/Qmin choices and display a warning box or using some red color if their values may result in flaky SVCD ?
Other suggestion : when i convert a avi file, i have to uncheck the audio encoding button (don't ask me why...). Could it be possible to pre-uncheck it ?
That's only my two cents for a software which is great, anyway.
