Is there a software that is very userfriendly that allows me to pop in a DVD to my PC and save the files to hard disk?

By the way - I am a big newb and I see all this dont ask, link, talk about Warez...what the heck is this?

check the Glossary at left - "warez" generally refers to software that is distributed illegally, either with a registration code or cracked so it doesn't need one.

for the purposes of this board, downloaded movies, rental-video ripping and bootlegged tv shows are also considered warez.

discussing them on these boards opens up the owner of the boards to legal problems, so for the good of the community, people here come down hard on warez posts.

    examples of warez posts:
"I'm trying to burn a Divx file of the Matrix:Reloaded to dvd"
"anyone know where I can get a registration code for SpruceUp?"
"I rented Shrek and I'm having problems ripping it".
"Anyone help me remove a logo from a divx of Harry Potter?"

And a quick note - whether or not "anyone else does it" is irrelevant. This is not a moral-high-ground, I'm-purer-than-you issue. No one here cares if you bootleg movies or use a cracked copy of Maestro. But if you talk about it on these boards, you will get warned and possibly banned.

hopefully the new warning system will make it clear to those who don't know, where the line is drawn, and get those who don't care banned from the boards.

hope this is clear enough. welcome aboard.
