All companies except Ricoh do not sell products outside Japan as far as I know. Buffalo drives are sold in South Korea but only through minor importers (I do.)

But there are Cendyne, Verbatim, Memorex, Iomega, and many other companies that sell OEM drives made by Sony, Ricoh, NEC, etc. in the United States market. Still different in the European market.

Most of them will appear under different brand names in the West as well, it is just a matter of time. And different pricing, of course.
