  2. the REAL reason why album sales are down: CRAPPY ALBUMS

one-hit wonders are extremely prone to P2P networks...

RIAA should be concentrating on making better music, so that we would WANT TO SPEND MONEY TO SUPPORT THE ARTISTS...offer something that isn't available simply by downloading the mp3....(i.e. grahic artwork, etc...)

  3. And the RIAA says in a whisper:

I see pirating people...doh those are just IP's hijacked by war drivers...darn foiled again

    EXACTLY

You know what, F@!K these ********!!!
This is just a sign of the times. Nearly everyone has finally stumbled into the digital age, and things will never be the same! The music/movie industry has been raping consumers for years (between record sales, and concert ticket prices). They just can't come to the realization that their outrageous exploitation will no longer "fly". You didn't see "mom and pop" stores suing when the big supermarts (like Wal-mart) forced them into extinction. Granted it's not the same "moral" issue, but both are victims of evolution.

    HAVE NO FEAR!!

I personally am going to borrow CD's to put on KaZaA, just to "kick them while they're down"!

  5. I don't know they're trying to fool. There is now way that any judge in his/her right mind would allow them to collect $150,000 per violation. If the go after the heaviest users who have upwards of 1,000 songs and possibly even 2,000 that comes to a total of $300,000,000. Almost a 1/3 of a billions dollars... right...

This is crap! It doesn't really protect you! If you think this will keep you safe... Then get yourself a T-1 and start serving up the world! See how long it takes before they come looking for you! I've discussed how this is crap in other threads. IT WILL NOT SAVE YOU!How long do you think it will take them to set up generic accounts with dsl or cable, and then start scanning your machines with bots to find out all of the different things you are sharing! They may not be able to look at the entire contents of your shared folder at one time, but they will just scan for several key (new) titles. Then they will release their IP and grab another. Hell TimeWarner's roadrunner service would be perfect, so would AOHell. I bet they would allow the Authorities to change IP's every connection! Why, because they own the media that is being pirated too (Warner bros., etc.).

Take it from me or take it from the authorities, if you trust in this current P2P protection, sooner or later they will catch you. Just wait for the big guys to get knocked off. And for the them to get some rulings in favor of the anti-piracy movement. Then they will come after every sucker that they catch downloading even one segment of one archive of anything!

You can believe in the rantings of this idiot, or you can fall with the fools when you get the cease and desist email with a 5 day required response! Don't respond, lose your connection and maybe go to jail!

IT will only take some time to arrive at this point. I am your profit. I can see the future from where I stand. And this format of P2P is DOOMED! You have been warned! Good luck in your future, I'll not speak again on this topic! And no PM about which method I might, in theory, recommend for getting your digital fix. That would be against the rules!

And if you think that the MPAA doesn't read on this site.....
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

Actually, I've seen several communities do this before Walmart has come into town. And they have all stopped the giant in its tracks! The Giant of course, just goes in another direction and starts the process all over again. At least 3 towns/villages in my area have done this now. I would give examples, but that would be risky!
