Is there any way of sorting the data to find out which media can be played on the most number of DVD players? i.e. to ensure maximum set top compatability.

Good idea. It isn't that difficult to fix either because I have everything in a database.

the ones with most comments can be played on most dvd players....most media have too few comments. -
Hmmmmm.........not sure if it is accurate.
Not all comments relate to a set-top player, and different comments may relate to the same media on the same player i.e. a double post.
Can it be arranged so that we can see that media X plays on Y number of different players?Regards,
Rob -
A suggestion on the DVD Players list relating to media:
I like the list of media references shown with each player. The downside is that I can't tell whether the reference is to media that will or won't play on that player. Could we have something that indicates this without going to the media to find out? Something like a [+3/-1] indication after the media in the player's list to indicate that 3 posts say that media works with this player and 1 post believes it does not.

rhegedus: it is still about the same...many comments means many different tested dvd players.
Garystebbings: Thanks for the tips. Will try to add something like that. -
Erm.......have you read the comments for KHypermedia compared to Verbatim DataLifePlus? The number of comments are not an indication of player compatibility. Sorry.

KHypermedia plays on 43 different dvd players
Verbatim DataLifePlus plays on 41 different dvd players
but then
KHypermedia does not play on 25 different dvd players
Verbatim DataLifePlus does not play on 5 different dvd players
so what should I do to "calculate" the compatibility? -

People can look at that data and decide what brand to go with.
Say Princo shows 20 players work / 10 players don't work and Ritek shows 30 players work and / 5 players don't work. Then a person can click on the media that they are interested in and make sure their player isn't listed as one that doesn't work. -
okey. I will also probably try to make an average from the user reviews, (
PC reliability is Good.
DVD reliability is Good. ) -
Is there no way of automatically extracting the data that's already on file, rather than manually assessing compatibility? It just seems like a lot of hard work for you when the problem is relatively simple.

Yes, it will be automatically...but first I have to code it.

I replaced the best price with compatibility in the list

You can now also order by compatibility, click on the icon left to the Compatibility column

GaryStebbins: Added , plays and dont play

and also burning reliability to the dvd writer list
