    How do i get back my vcd product to avi to modify the result.
    Please help...

  2. Your VCD will have a dat file, use VCDGear to convert the dat file to an mpg file onto your hard drive. Then open the file in vdub, select video full processing mode choose compression codec if you want to use any, if you save it uncompressed the file will be extremely large. Then select file, save avi.

    I had a successful conversion from AVI to VCD using VCDEasy. But I am not satisfied with the image. It's not really that bad but a little bit of snowy. Is it because of my computer capacity? or my digital video or my pinnacle software. Please i need help. I have an ongoing big project...

    No the dat file is basically an mpeg file but slightly modified for VCD. VCDgear just reverts the dat file back to mpeg with the MPG extension. If you want to encode the mpg file to avi you can then use vdub. Open the mpeg file in vdub select the compression codec you want to use and save the avi file. You can get vcdgear here.

    When i try to convert vcd dat file to mpg using vcdgear, it starts converting then errors with

    could not locate mpeg stream
