  1. for some strange reason, DVD Backup1.3 cannot decode Video_TS.VOB of The Animatrix DVD. It did all the other files alright, but not that one. So I took the DVD to my friend's house and tried DVD Decrypter on his PC. It worked fine. The strange part of it is that all the keys are the same. So I burned Video_TS.VOB to a CD and took it back to my iMac and everything work perfect. Anyone else with this issue?

Can't say that I have, on any of the dvd's ive done, and I dont own animatrix yet.

but it looks like you were able to go around the issue, which is good. The VIDEO_TS.VOB file isnt very large, and i would imagine you could just pull it directly off the mounted dvd like you are copying it from the disk to your HD.

or you could try another backup program other than dvdbackup. but the important thing is you got it!

I think it has some form of protection or something but I managed to copy it
DVDbackup wouldnt allow me to make an image I could use in DTOX but DVD extractor did.

I've had similar problems with DVDBackUp 1.3, most recently with Star Trek Nemesis. I also had the errors mentioned in the other linked thread with OSEx. Finally, I used the Finder to copy and paste the DVD to the HD, then DVDBackup worked on the files from the HD fine. The 'Diskcopy' results from DTOX worked fine with Apple's DVD Player. Did you try that? Just wondering.

  6. I just backed up The Animatrix DVD with DVDBackUp 1.3. Then used DVD2oneX 1.1.0 and everything worked just fine. No problems.

  7. Just a heads up, I also backed up Animatrix Region 1 DVD without any trouble using Backup 1.3.
