  1. I'm tring to make a vcd, so I took my avi file and converted it to a mpeg-1, NTSC film. I used the 'convert help' on the site here for TMPEnc Plus. No errors. I then tried to burn it using Nero 5.5, I select to burn a vcd, dragged, dropped, burned. I used the 'burn help' on this site as well. Everything seemed to go through successful. I then tried to play the vcd on my player, a Sony DVP-NS755V, and it starts in the middle of the film and will play (with sound and video) for 2 seconds and then it freezes. I will take it back out and put the cd back in the see what will happen if I were to try to play it again, and it still only starts and freezes at the same points.

I have gone back to TMPEnc and tried to repair it using the mpeg tools, simple multiplex, and then burned it again, but it still freezes. Has anyone had this happen to them before, have I let out a step?

  2. I notice you have a Sony player I too have a sony player and I get freezes on my player this is down to the player not liking VCDs after I've played a DVD. I have to turn off the player then restart and watch the VCD.

  3. What ever happened with this issue? I have the dvp-ns755v and it will only play my svcds once. After that it plays them for 2 seconds and quits. Is it is copy protection or just a bug in the player?

    Thanks

I have the same player. Mine will play VCD, SVCD, DVD-R(higher quality disks). However, it does seem to be a bit touchy at times. It will randomly freeze up at times, but not too often.

I have been through a number of different brands (apex, samsung, daewoo, phillps) and they all had freezing problems that were 100X worse than the sony.

I also found that the sony didn't like DVD's that were created with TMPGEnc and ifoedit. Thank God for programs like DVD2One and DVD Shrink.
