  2. Hi yes I have done it for use on my nokia 7650. You use a program such as virtual dub and use the Dix 5 plugin. You can select to create an mp4 file. If you need any more help reply to this.

  3. What phone do you have, I have the Sony Ericsson P800 and have not been able to create videos using vdub that are playable on it, the files must have an mp4 extension AVI does not work.

I use mpegable which creates mp4 (with mp4 ext.) files that play perfectly well on my phone. You can get a trial here.

    http://www.mpegable.com/showPage.php?SITE=mpegable&PAGE=home

I downloaded the mpegable mp4 codec seperately for use in vdub, but could not get it to create a vid that would work on my phone.

  4. You can get the Divx codec to create an mp4 file. When you have opened the file you want to convert you then click on Video > Compression. Then select the Divx Codec and then click configure. near the bottom of that screen it says Write Divx MP4 file. If it says Dvix click on select and then on the Save as type select MP4 files.
Run the conversion and the MP4 file will be created. I was unable to get any sound and for better memory usage I would use the filter to resize in Virtual Dub to resize to something smaller like 174x132 which is wallpaper size for the 7650. My web site has some of the MP4s I have created using this method. Click on the MP4s icon on the phone. http://uk.geocities.com/pauldistonuni/ Some are a bit naughty so be careful if you don't want to view naughty stuff.

  7. Here is a screen shot of what mine looks like. You see where it says Write Divx MP4 file. Put a tick in that box and then you click on select and on the save as dialog you will see a drop down menu Save as Type. MP4 should be in this section.
Don't think you are going to be able to get audio.

  11. Use the filters in vdub.

I am quite happy using mpegable it encodes my movies 100% compliant and is very quick. I was just saying that I could not get a divx codec to encode to mpeg4, I probrably dont have the right one installed. What I do is open my vid in vdub use the resize filter to get it to 192x144 then frameserve to mpegable.

  12. in virtual dub you can resize and rotate using the filters. Click on Video > Filters. Then Add. Scroll down to resize and click ok. Then input the width and height. Then click ok. Now click add again and scroll down to rotate. Click OK. Enter the rotation you require. In the filters list you should have resize and rotate. Click ok. Then file save as avi and it is sorted.
I have just tried it and the rotation works a treat.

  13. I have got 2 128MB memory stick duo's on order, should get them soon. Will be great when I am out and bored eg. shopping with the wife, just stick on an episode of the simpsons or friends or even an entire movie.

  14. Yeah that is a great idea. I would have like to have done it for my 7650 but it has only got 4 Mb. The 3650 has a memory card slot so that might be good.
