Hi everyone I have a Creative Digital VCR card. It worked alright for a little while. However it has stopped working. I have reinstall the software and the latest driver for it but nothing ever comes up on screen when I switch to Live TV. I reconfigured it multiple times and set up the wiring to it a few different ways. I also tried doing analog captures through Vegas Video 4. But Vegas only says this about the card:

"The device VBDVCR CAPTURE could not be opened.

Please make sure it is turned on and not being used by another application or user"
The card is being pretty useless right now.

I'm using windows XP does anyone know what could be wrong? Sorry but I really don't have any more information. It just doesn't work.

I have the Creative Digital VCR running with XP. I recently have had problems I believe having to do with the Windows XP service packs and updates.

What do you see in your device manager?

Have you installed all of the XP updates?

I gave up trying to patch my system up because I just could not get the capture card and other items on my computer to work.

I just re-installed XP and stared from scratch - No updates or service packs.

After this I just had to get my display driver working and all was fine.

    Thanks.

I haven't done any windows updates yet. I just recently installed XP home for the first time a couple months ago. It was a full install and not an upgrade. But it is acting funny right now and I've been considering reformating because I've changed out my hardware a few times (new motherborad, cpu, ect.). Even so it wasn't working before I was doing all that. Everything has just been really goofy with it. So hopefully a reformat will help. But I kind of doubt it.

Device manager says it working properly but it's not. hmm....

Try the reformat, my drive is formated as NTFS and that works fine.

If you are going to do that, might as well reinstall windows XP and start from square one.
