got some MPEG1 files and converted the audio to 48khz and they play fine in windows, however, after i compile my DVD in Ulead DVD WORKSHOP v1.3 and then play back in PowerDVD4 the files all hav lip synching problems!?!?
is there a fix for this?
I have tried using other software but nearly everything else wants to re-render my files which would take hours!!![]()
Also, i tried DVD-LAB but it wont import my files without moaning about them being the wrong size etc. it does import the files but the thumbnails are all black and it doesnt look like they have been imported properly.
can anyone give some advice on what to try next!! thanks

No need to "author" your VCD's with Workshop to create DVD's. Check out this:
All-In-One guide, VCD or SVCD to DVDR/W with SVCD2DVDMPG+

The original poster might want to use his existing software without paying software. In which case you can use Ulead to author your VCDs -> DVD. I suspect that the sync problems were caused by how you converted your audio from 44.1khz to 48khz.
What programs/guides/steps/settings/etc. did you use? I've always followed this guide:
https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm
using tooLame and SSRC (using TMPGEnc as a gui for both programs) and never had any problems. Some people report better results if they mp2 -> wav -> toolame/SSRC. -
cheers guys,
i want to do some fancy menus on my DVDR but didnt realise i could use the SVCD2DVDMPG method and import the VOBS into an advanced authoring tool like ULEAD DVDWS1.3 ...i'll try that out in a bit.
Vejita - I actually used the guide you mentioned to convert my audio to 48khz and the files play fine before being authored, thanks for taking the time to reply anyway! -
I would suggest using tmpgenc dvd author instead of ulead. I had exactly your problem with writing vcd to dvd with 48000hz audio. Files worked fine before authoring but were screwed for sync afterwards. Grab tmpgenc dvd author as it's a free trial for 30 days and re-author with that.
Very easy to use, guide here:

I'm almost certain you'll find that just like mine they play fine in power dvd after. -
i started off using TMPGEnc DVD Authoring Software but i hated the way you couldnt edit the menu buttons. I dont want the PLAY ALL button, on my main menu i just want a PLAY MOVIE button, a CHAPTER SELECTION button and a link to a SPECIAL FEATURES menu.
I think if all else fails i will be forced to go back to TMPEGEnc DVD as its better than nothing. I just hope the next release allows you to customise a bit more. -
just heard from someone that this audio sync issue in Ulead DVD WORKSHOP only affects files on hard drive played through POWERDVD, but should not be a problem if burnt onto a DVDR and played on a standalone player! can anyone verify if this is true?
Thanks
