  1. I'm trying to mux ac3 with m2v using TMPGenc but I'm having more than one problem. First I don't see any menu in TMPGenc that says "mux" or something like that, second TMPGenc doesn't recognise ac3 files.
Can someone who has done is explain it to me step by step???
    Thanks

In TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 look under FILE for MPEG TOOLS. This brings up a dialog window with a bunch of TABS and you want the one that says SIMPLE MULTIPLEX. This will allow you to select your M2V file and AC-3 file and then "mux" them into a single MPEG file (filename.mpg).

If this is an AC-3 file you created yourself then the delay value should be 0 (as in ZERO) so no problems there HOWEVER if this is an AC-3 file from a DVD video then it is possible it has a delay value OTHERTHAN 0 in which case you should use the program "AC3Delay" to "fix" the AC-3 file to have a delay value of 0. Whenever you RIP a DVD and then re-encode the video you should always "fix" the delay value of the AC-3 audio file before trying to mux it back with the video. This should also be done even when you use an authoring program that accepts individual files ... in other words some authoring programs accept the seperate M2V and AC-3 files. Some will only accept an already muxed MPEG file. Please note that some AC-3 audio files will already have a delay value of 0 when you do the RIP but some (probably most) do not. If you used DVD2AVI then the AC-3 audio file will have the delay value in the filename that DVD2AVI created.
