  2. Forget RecordNow. Get CopyToDVD, infinitely better burning program. All my DVDs are compliant with whatever I use them on.

Took out? I don't think you can just delete files and expect the remaining files to play and RecordNow most likely detected the errors in the files and said no way Jose. I also believe you can in options tell RecordNow not to check for DVD compatibility but then the recorded disc may not work.

Just download and use DVDshrink to re-author the files, it's a free program.

    on.
Have burned over 300 DVDR's both DVD-R and DVD+R with RecordNow with zero coasters. Never even heard of CopyToDVD LOL.

  5. dude_son,

RecordNow is probably indicating that the DVD files you are trying to burn are not DVD specification compliant. Trust me - this is a good thing. You should always use the "DVD compatibility option" - this prevents you from burning coasters and it ensures the DVD will play on most standalones.

Since you didn't provide the error message, it's difficult to help you. It looks like your DVD files are out of whack since you "took out the widescreen version". You could try performing a "get sectors" using IFOedit. Also, bear in mind that RecordNow will check the IFO files to ensure that all the VOB files are present. Did you delete some VOB files?

BTW, I always use RecordNow and I've burnt a couple of hundred DVD's.

    Good luck

Hey, am I missing something? RecordNOW MAX 4.5 doesn't seem to have any DVD wizards or templates or anything on my installation. It works fine for making DVD discs, but I feel I might be missing some features. The wizards are only for CD's...

At any rate, CopyToDVD works... most of the time. It has a nasty tendency to want to fiddle with your VideoDVD files, which I hate.

Yup, if it doesn;t burn it USUALLY not always means your files are bad usually after you manually remove extras using IFOEdit

That is correct, RNM is saving you from producing a coaster. If you remove a version from a W/S and 4:3 Disc you have to update the ifo file and make the necessary changes to the pointers in the file. You can make it into a img file with IMGTool and burn it as RNM global >img but you will have to do a work around then when you play the Disc.
The only way if you burn the img to play the movie and keep it from looping if so is select >chapters list>chapter one>then the version you saved if you push>play>and version it will just loop usually at a warning or directors input.
You are better off fixing the pointers doing a ifo update , get vts and removing button with menu-edit if desired it will then operate correctly when inserted in DVD Player.Trust me I learned the hard way, There is some info on doom9 also regarding this very problem know to effect IC7 projects with duel format Disc and pointers corrections in IFOedit.
