  1. Hi,

I've been using TMPGEnc to convert DIVX videos to DVD M2V files, in the past with no problem. With my last two conversions, however, TMPGEnc is creating video output information that continue on, after the original film should end. This extra "video" is basically stills from the movie and can add 5-7 gigs on to the file which is normally around 4 gigs.

    Very strange stuff.

Any ideas what might cause this?

I'm sober while I'm working on this

    Thanks,

    Jim

  2. Open up the divx file in vdub, does it report that the audio is encoded with VBR. TMPGEnc does not handle VBR audio well and causes problems. If this is the case save the audio out as an uncompressed wav file (using vdub full processing mode), and use this wav file as the audio source in TMPGEnc.

  3. Thanks for the tip. It very well might be VBR, but I don't process the sound at all with TMPGEnc. Instead, I just convert the video, and then I use a slew of other programs to rip the sound and convert it to AC3. I will try removing the sound from the original and converting the video and see if this does the trick.
