  1. This is related to a previous problem.

How can I tell which codecs I have installed on my system? Is there an easy way to disable/uninstall them from one central location?

I'm wanting to do this to test for incompatibility between codecs.

    Thanks!!

    -Nate

    OH yeah.....this is WinME

I don't know if this shows them all, as I don't know what all I have installed, so don't know if any are missing.
Control Panel> Multimedia> Devices> Video Compression Codecs> Audio Compression Codecs.
This is 98, mind you, so maybe a little diff way to get there in ME.

fo to analogx.com and go to downloads/audio and get dxman. it will allow you to see and remove any codecs you have on your computer. it is freeware

  4. Thanks for the info....I was able to view all my codecs in settings.

Does anyone know if I can delete any of these or if there are any I don't need?

    Or maybe something that conflicts???

  8. BJ_M, thanks.

I've just been ripping my hair out trying to figure out why Sasami will no longer play my SVCD's after uninstalling Elecard andinstalling DirectX, WinDVD, the TMPGEnc Mpeg-2 codec!!

It's all the subject of a very seedy made-for-TV movie!!

I guess I can use WinDVD to play them now.....it's just annoying.....I mean....WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!!

He he.....gotta smile or I'll go nuts!
