tmpgenc wont convert divx, but i have all the codecs. why?

ok, heres my problem. i've encoded many divx videos before, but never had any problems like this. i downloaded this movie. it wont play in my windows media player , real1 player or power dvd. it will only play in my divx player version 2.1 . and it plays there just fine. but when i load it into tmpgenc, (after using virtualdub of course) it then sais that tmpgenc cant use divx player 2.1 as an external encoder. when i try to use virtual dub to process it it will do a direct stream copy , but a full process freezes after the first second. i have all the codecs to watch it all on my computer but it wont convert. what can i do?

did you use gspot to check if you real got the right codec installed?

no, but as i said, i have prity much every kind of divx codecs and the movie does play in the divx player 2.1. tmpgenc just wont use the divx player codecs to convert it

k did it. had to get the divx version 5.05. the last version played the file but wasnt compatable with tmpgenc. all good now . thank. forgot i even had gspot to begin with.
