  1. Hi I have a video I'm not sure if it's ".mpeg" or ".mpeg a" but when I try to play it in windows media player 8 it tells me the file type is not supported, I try playing it in winamp 2.91 and it does not load, and I don't know what I have to do play this. I mean do I need a codec/software/etc? please help, thanks.

It is probably a mpeg2 and then you need a mpeg2(DVD or SVCD) player or codec.
