  1. After going th' the whole site, i am still confused about this topic. I tried both Roxio's ECDC and Nero.

The guide link on this web site from rich at:
    http://www.members.home.net/richa/ezcdmenu.htm
is fantastic, but unfortunately is silent about creating "Menu Clip".

and Ians Site too is silent about this issue, link:
    http://www.coyote01.freeserve.co.uk/

both, assume that clip has already been made. what I need is the actual process to make it.
TSCV guide, i find too confusing.
    Please help.

All you do is make a clip that has text stateing your menu choices or how ever you would like to do it. Its not a special mpeg clip or anything. Just use a video editing program to create one.

  5. Sorry folks! TSCV didn't help (i used the latest version TSCV v0.73b rel1 from the TTool site)

TSCV allows making SVCD and not VCD. the VCD button is disabled.
Moreover it is not recognising my MPEG1 files for the intro.
    Any help appreciated.

use any photo editing prog. load a jpg.than write text on it ie. 1-static x
    2-slayer
    3-pantera
etc.than save it as a jpg.than load it into tmpge.then make a wav.file i make a silent 5sec wav in nero sound editer or u can use windows sound recorder or u can use a audio file but its gonna loop so i just use a silent wav.than load it in tmpge in the audio source hit start and u have a menu screen than just make sure u load the mpg files in the order u have on the menu use the wizard and follow the walk through http://www.members.home.net/richa/ezcdmenu.htm

This is due to the CDI directory being missing.

Check out the FAQ on http://www.ttool.de there is an entry marked
'why is VCD disabled' or something similar and a link to get a zipped version of the files you need.

Unzip this file into a new directory called CDI in the same directory as TSCV and videoimager and the next time you start TSCV the VCD option will be available.

Unfortunately I havent tried menus under VCD so I dont know how successfull they are but I've had some success with SVCD menus so things should be fine.

    Hope this helps.

  8. EUREKA!!!!!!! thank u all folks at this forum.

I am writing the full procedure here. (Mr Baldrick, the Administrator, r u watching? I need u to post this procedure in the help section on making "VCD menus" as I don't want it to get lost in the forum messages, and currently there is no help available in the "Author" or FAQs section)

This method describes how to make a "Still Menu MPG file" in the SIMPLEST, easiest, PAINLESS way. (i am still looking for an easy method to make a "video motion menu MPG" file). (The TSCV method was a pain.......u know where!)

    1. Get 1 or 2 JPG or BMP images, that u want as intro/menu photoes for ur VCD
    2. To edit the image, use any photo editing program (BMP image can be edited by the 'Paint' that comes with Windows).
    3. With the image editor, write text on the 1st photo (the text will be whatever u wish to be seen in the Introductory screen when ur VCD starts).
    4. make a .wav file for sound effect on the introductory screen(length? whatever u want the first screen to last)
    5. open TMPGEnc and load these 2 (image and .wav files) in the corresponding Video and audio sources, select an output file name and hit Start.
    6. ur Introductory "Still Menu MPG file" is ready.
    7. Same process for making the second Menu file that will contain all the menu choices as text.
    8. follow the Rich's guide at this link:
    http://www.members.home.net/richa/ezcdmenu.htm

and u r done. Happy burning!

PS: i am not a "techie" but hope u find it helpful.
If u know an easy method (not the TSCV) for making "Video Motion Menu MPG file", please post it here or in the forum.
