I had three movies in SVCD format, each had two parts.

A buddy recommended "Filemerger", so I gave it a try.

It said it merged the two parts of each movie together fine.

I had to delete the originals because of lack of HD space.

Now I try to view them and only the 1st half is viewable, the file size is doubled, so the info is still there. Is there anyway to get at the 2nd half?

I just tried Power DVD and it plays the files all the way through.

But I don't know how to convert them to DVD compliant mode.

Tried, after one hour, it said 10 hours left, but it was only at the 4 minute mark which would tend to indicate it only sees the first 44 minutes.

  5. I think you just stitched the two files togethor. MPEG Tools (In TMPGenc) re-writes the header when it merges two files.

You said you tried to run it through TMPEnc but did you try MPG tools? Perhaps it will allow you to split them and then rejoin them.

  6. I think the problem has to do with the sequence end code. When you just join two files as you did the end code for the first clip is still there. When most applications read it they see the end code and think the file is done. The only way I have been able to fix these files is to use (I think this is right) Womble's mpegvcr. It seems to ignore the end code. Use it to demux to seperate audio and video then mux with bbmpeg (as wombles muxer sucks, at least it has for me). Now if you can't *ahem* "obtain" that software then I am not sure what to tell you as it is the only one I have gotten to work.

OK, I have a copy of mpeg2vcr that I borrow from a friend (if it does what I want, I will buy it).

I have 12GB free on my HD.

I load the file in question into mpeg2vcr, and the whole thing reads fine. I attempt to demux it so I can use it in DVD-Lab.

In the Demux window I set everything up, it says the estimated size is 1135.915 MB, and that the Disk Space is D: 459.85 MB.

WinXp says D has 12.4GB free.

Why doesn't mpeg2vcr recognize the correct size?

u obviously have a partition hard drive and your software is recognizing the wrong one

u have a couple of options

    1. navigate your software to the right drive

    2. allocate more space to your second drive UNLESS it is a recovery drive

Well, C & E are two partitions on my first HD.
Drive D is a physical second drive.

MPEG2VCR see all three drives, but it reports the free space on all three incorrectly.
