  1. I've looked everywhere. I've already ched the "Convert" guide but it only lists Pal VCD to NTSC VCD not SVCD. I thougth it would be the same procedure for SVCD but I cant seem to get TMPGEnc to open the SVCD file. It gives me

File "D:\MPEG2\AVSEQ01.MPG" can not open, or unsupported.

I've already installed the MPEG2 codec for windows and also the m2v.vfp for TMPGEnc.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks

What version of TMPGEnc are you using? I've done it that way (loading the PAL VCD/SVCD in to TMPGEnc and then choosing the NTSC VCD/SVCD template), and they've worked fine.

I know some versions have been known to have bugs in them, but mainly it's the newer versions. I'm using version 2.58.44.152 Core version 1.90.140, and I've done that conversion several times, with no problems. With that file structure it looks like you are trying to open the file off an SVCD(?)

In order to open mpeg2 files with TMPGEnc you need the Mpeg2 plug-in for TMPGEnc, it's in the Tools section.

    its m2v_vfp-0.6.36.lzh right?

I already installed it properly and can see it under "Environment" in TMPGEnc.

I don't think you can load the mpeg straight from the disk, you need to rip and convert to standard mpeg2. Here's a guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141726.php

I just tried to open an MPEG file from an SVCD, and it opened fine. You *should* be able to, but that doesn't always mean you can. Try just copying the MPEG file to your HD and see if you can open it.

no, it's just changing some headers in the file and not re-encoding.
