ok so Im trying to rip a dvd that I own and I want to keep the menus for both split to 2 disc dvds, and dvds that I choose one aspect for (Ice Age). How so I keep the menus while keeping perfect quality? Using dvddecrypter and dvdfab .15 of course.

Not sure 100% what your saying but if you want menus on dvd#1 and dvd#2 you can't. Only have menus on dvd#1.
How do you do it? Rip to .iso, mount with daemon tools. Click 'copy complete dvd', choose source the VIDEO_TS dir then destination, click continue and your done. -
Ok so what I mean is I just want menus. I just want to copy a dvd-9 disc to 2 dvd-rs and keep the menus. DVDxcopy doesnt do this, so I want to use decrypter and dvdfab.
What are daemon tools? Oh and a side note, Im wondering if I can copy a dual aspect dvd like ICE Age and strip out one of the aspects (fullscreen), then burn the dvd, with widescreen aspect, but also keep menus.
thats my question -
just use dvd decrypter on every file(whole disc) for ice age.
then i prefer to use dvd2one,to put it onto 1 dvd-r.
just select full disc, and only leave in the english soundtrack, and start it,when its done, ice age on 1 dvd-r,with all the menus and extras, and not reall any noticible degradation of sound or picture quality.
im not too sure, but when i did mine(ice age) it was about 6gigs when ripped, but dvd2one reduced the size to about 4.37gigs.
i took out the english 2channel audio, directors commentary, and the french language as well,so the picture was excellent quality.
i dont know about dvdfab or whatever, but dvd2one is excellent. -
thanks
but I just wanted to make a perfect copy.meaning no compression, just take out the fullscreen aspect to make the dvd under 4 gigs and then burnt the dvd without the fullscreen aspect.
Im sure there is a way to do this . My main concern is keeping the menus since the dvd fab website says it can do this. I just dont know how. -
This is certainly doable, but it depends on if you want to get your hands dirty. There is a rather simple guide on doom9 (the guide may be here as well - I haven't checked) which shows how to split a dvd-9 to 2 dvd-5's without compression - and you keep the menus etc on both discs.
In a nutshelll, this is what you do:
1) Rip the DVD in file mode.
2) Use IFOedit to perform the split function.
3) Copy additional menu files to each of the split discs.
It may seem daunting but it's straight forward once you get the gist of things. I use it all the time and I've backed up nearly 100 movies.
Check it out, it may help you.
Good luck! -
I see. I however just want to keep the menus on disc one. Also is there a way to rip out the full screen aspect and keep everything else?
-
I don't understand the problem ?
Just rip the whole disc using DVDDecrypter.
Start DVDFab and click "copy dvd"; set path to the VIDEO_TS-Path (or where you ripped the data).
(or look at this http://www.dvdfab.com/man_copy_e.html)
Ready !!!If it ain't the prompt it ain't shit -
It gives me a error when I use this method, and says cant read ifo files. I rip using decrypter and use file mode.
Also will using dvdfab and copy dvd method copy the menus also?
Pertaining to my other question, How do I rip out one aspect and then burn the dvd with the remaining aspect with menus?
thanks -
does the disc actually say.full screen version, and wide screen version.
as far as i was aware,i have a few movies that just stretch the widescreen version to fit a 4:3 tv.
and i also got a few that have the widescreen on one layer and the fullscreen on the other.
if it doesnt say it or have another side or layer, then just rip the whole lot. -
The DVD is Mission Impossible, and it does have two different aspects on one side, because it is a dual layer disc. Its not just this DVD I get the error message for all dvds ripped in file mode that I want to use DVDfab to copy whole DVD.
I dont get it.
