  1. emphasis on the words "easy" and "dual". i'm currently using videostudio 7 which is easy, but only allows a single track of overlay, but i've looked at DVDlab, adobe premiere, done some searches, checked donpedro's compilation, and even tried VS7's bigger brother (media studio).

even though media studio has more than one track... it and video studio don't even appear to be from the SAME PLANET when it comes to a layman like myself being able to figure it out...!!! and in that vain, please don't even suggest anything like virtualdub or avisynth or anything dealing with the whole concept of "frameserving". that sounds like a whole 'nother "nightmare" i'd rather avoid having to figure out if possible...

there's gotta be some software out there that does overlays with the simplicity of VS7, but offers at least a 2nd track that will import an image file...

what do you mean by dual overlay? compositing more than one image or video source on top of each other?

what exactly are you trying to do? from reading your description, it sounds like you are trying to have video in the background, and more than one image or title superimposed over it. Is this correct?

Vegas Video can do it, pretty easily, but I don't know if it's "ez" enough for you... some stuff just can't be done easily on a bare-bones editor.

One thing you can try in Video Studio - take your video, put your first overlay on it. Export. Open your exported video, add your second overlay. Yes, it's a pain. Yes, it's going to possibly degrade your source material from re-encoding.

But if you want to play with advanced toys, you're going to have to expend the time and effort to learn them - not everything is "ez".

  3. yup you got it.... by "dual" i mean overlaying 2 different image files overtop the video at the same exact time marker. in my instance, 2 logos to be exact.

yeah, i figured i'd might have to export it with the single track of overlay done. i actually have that on stand-by just in case the answer was like i figured...?

well thanks, i will try Vegas next and see what i can come up with. ANYTHING'S gotta be simpler than media studio and premiere...!!!

Edit studio from http://www.puremotion.com will also do what you need, unless you are working with mpeg files. It doesn't do mpeg editing.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
