    Hello,

When i try to extract subtitles in a .srt file, i'm cannot save the unrecognized characters in the database. I have this error:

    ----------
The upper char was not recognized. Enter correct ASCII char, "string" or 4 to 8 digit hex unicode: "ff"
    Store the pattern? 0=no 1=into_memory 2=to_database: 2
    could not access /usr/local/etc/db/db.lst
    ----------

If i make this directory and an empty db.lst file, i must be in admin access. But the results its the same with this empty file created.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Toche

  2. Could you post terminal results for these commands:

    ls -l /usr/local
    ls -l /usr/local/etc

I have deleted the db folder. I think it has never been created (i use the engines installer included in the first release 0.0.7)
If i want to create a db folder, i must type 'sudo mdir db' and enter my admin password.

I logon with the user 'toche' who is an admin user.

  4. usr/local/etc should belong to user toche, not to root

Ok i just change it now. I will test just after my current encoding

But it's is odd ('bizarre' 'strange') that i have to change the rights of this folder. I have never change it. My Jaguar version is 10.2.6 (updated by combo) and i have launch the 'Disk Utilty' (Utilitaire de disque in french) to 'repair autorisations' (réparer les autorisations).

Am I the only one who have reported this problem?

    Regards,
    Toche

Yes. I could probably put the database in the Home folder if /usr/local/etc gives problems.
