  1. I am currently using Radeon 9500 pro for my capture from analog video to mpeg2. I use vegas video 4.0 to edit and render. I use DVD-Archtect for authoring and burning.

Recently I have encountered a problem I cannot figure out. After preparing files. I watch them on Power DVD prior to burning. Everything looks great. After burning and watching it on my standalone. The video is shakey and jittery. It's not my DVD player because I have done others with out problem. I have tried to change the bit-rate, no- effect. I have tried to change the interlacing from top to bottom and bottom to top. No effect.

I am at my wit's end with this. Does anyone have any other ideas. It's kinda frustrating since it takes about 10 hours to encode an 1 1/2 hour video.

    Thanks

    2me2u,

I had this very same issue but I was using different tools (Dazzle DVC-150, Movie Star5, DVD Complete). In my case, the problem was Field order (B to A). First try rendering a small clip with Field order B then burn to a DVD-RW and try it on your topset again, it >should< make the jitters go away. The Field order can be changed with Ulead VS7, I'm not sure about other authoring software.

    Hope this helps,

  3. I tried both field orders. It didn't make a difference. Clips still look good on computer but horrible on the set-top.

    Any other ideas?

    2me2u,

I'm not sure what else it could be other than the Field order, I would try process of elimination and find out which piece of software is causing the issue (vegas video 4.0 or DVD-Archtect), then go from there.

Another trick I've heard is, before rendering, change the ratio from 720x480 to 720x479.

Even better advice would be to go to the vegas and DVD-Architect forums and ask there, I'm sure this is a problem for others that use this software.

    Good luck,
