  1. I am compiling this dvd of 10 mpgs, and for some reason the first two mpgs are out of sync very badly. The original mpgs are fine, but after i run them through the program, the first two are all out of sync. I don't understand why the program would do this, anyone know how to stop it from touching the videos? Thanks.

Ulead did some weird things with my files too.

I finally started looking around for something better, I came up with DVD-Lab. You can find it in the tools section on the left.

  3. Well I use MF2, and TMPGEnc DVD Author program. The Pegasys (Tmpgenc) seems more compatible with non standard Mpegs.... But Ulead has better menus.

I use DVDPatcher on DVB videos (544 by 480 and 640 by 480) NTSC.

I patch add to the Tmpgenc DVD, save my project. Patch back to 544 by 480 or 640 by 480) Takes about a second for each patch since I don't have to do the whole file.

Then re-open the saved project, make my cuts and chapters & menu(s) and create the DVD.

Takes about 5 to 10 minutes to edit, etc. 15 minutes to create and 15 minutes to burn (4X)

It's a 30 day trial so nothing to loose.

    Good Luck

What are the attributes of your source files - especially the two that are exhibiting sync problems?

I'm especially interested in the audio bitrate and format.

  5. well i think i figured out the problem, one of the mpegs was 24 fps, and i guess ulead couldn't sync it after converting it. I converted everything myself and then used dvd author, which seemed to work, but ulead would not make the converted files work. Ulead would gradually cause the movie to go out of sync, and it got veyr bad at the end, almost 30 seconds off probably. thanks for the help.

    That's it.

The Ulead applications aren't designed to work with 24 fps source material.

  7. I used TMPEGenc to do mpeg encoding and output to ES (Video and Audio) and used the REPLACE AUDIO option to let Movie Factory multiplex them together.

TMPEGenc uses padding that Movie Factory DOES NOT LIKE!!!

I had out of sync probs from MF2 when using TMPEGenc encoded MPGs with the audio together, but this fixed the prob for me.
