If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as:
    Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order

Try first to change the directshow codec reader priority settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 or to the top of plugin-list and try open the video. Or try to convert the audio to wav before converting(If you have problems extracting the audio using Virtualdub try use Goldwave or AVI2WAV). Or try to repair the AVI,DivX or the ASF. Or try to use avidefreezer to fix your video source.

Are you using Frameserving, or encoding with TMPGEnc alone?

Okay, this is frameserving. Let's try it to see if TMPGEnc likes your .vdr file better than your AVI file.

Not likely. Most likely you may have a codecs problem. But you made sure you had all your codecs loaded, right?

  14. yeah. when i upgraded my computer i used my old harddrive at first so no change in anything but it still froze. i formatted and now i only installed on codec called 3ivx which has all the codecs i need but even before i tried several over codecs it still doesnt solve the problem cause this is the 3rd time i formatted my computer. are there any other encoding programs as good as tmpgenc?

There have numerous arguments over which is better: TMPGEnc or CCE. You may want to try the latter.

Just because it plays OK doesn't mean there isn't some bad frames in the video. Encoders are much more fussy than players. Always check for bad frames before encoding, it will save you some grief.

  22. but it shouldnt be the program of bad frames cause i encode these all the time until now when i upgraded my hardware. Never had one single problem until now.

I have heard that as well. I have it on my system and it seems to work ok. Go to the Tools section at left and download DivX 5 codec.

  30. dude i cannot help you but i can say that i am having the exact same problems as you are. i've treid every damn codec out there, but i'm still getting no results whatsoever. i get at like 30 percent then the same error comes up..."illegal floating decimal point calculation order", then freezes.
