    1. Open TMPGEnc, close the wizard if it opens.

    2. Load your video and name the output file for your first VCD.

    3. Select Load and select the appropiate VCD template (NTSC/PAL) select "OK".

    4. Select Settings-->Advanced tab-->Source Range. Select "Set start frame". Move the slider to approximately halfway through the video. Make a note of exactly where you place it and select "Set end frame". Select "OK", and "OK" again.

    5. Select Start. TMPGEnc will make the first VCD format MPEG file.

    6. Leaving the input file the same, rename the output for the second VCD.

    7. Select Settings-->Advanced tab-->Source Range. Move the slider to the halfway point you noted in step 4. Select Set start frame. Move the slider to the end of your video. and select "Set end frame". Select "OK", and "OK" again.

    8. Select Start. TMPGEnc will make the second VCD format MPEG file.

  3. Bring up the settings by clicking setting in tmpgenc
    click advanced tab,
    check the source range box,
double click this setting (double click the words source range)
up comes the source range screen

enter a start and end range for your range by inserting a start and end frame.
