  1. I just received the DAC 100 and was trying to get it to record from a recording on a VHSC tape that is in my vcr. The vcr is hooked up to the DAC 100 and I was also trying to record a tv program using the vcr as my tuner. In both instances I used Power VCR2 as the software to capture with and both recordings came out with video moving to fast and no audio. My questions are what settings do I put it on and why is there no audio. There is audio when just watching the tape or tv but there is no audio while capturing and also after I've burned it to a dvd. I could use all the help that can be offered. Thanks!

How is the DAC-100 hooked into your computer?

  3. I have it plug in by using a firewire card.

Try using DVIO to capture you DV from your DAC. I would not worry, I have heard very few complaints about your new toy.

  6. Make sure your dip switches are set correctly as well as your video and audio, i.e., whether your capturing analogue or digital video and the audio setting

  7. I think I have all the dip swithes correct. I'm trying DVIO and it comes out fine but when I want to capture how can I see what I'm capturing while its in progress and not have to wait till I press the stop button?

  8. All of the software I've used, e.g., Ulead Video Studeo 7 Demo, Easy CD DVD Creataor 6, and the software that comes with the ATI AIW 8500 let you view the capture as it captures in the preview screen or what ever they call it. Video Studeo 7 would show the video while capturing but I couldn't hear the audio, which was captured none the less. Of course this means that the program you use for capturing has to have a playback screen. All the captures I've done has been from a Hi8 but I wouldn't think that would be any different than a VHS machine. Are you using software to capture that also lets you watch the film?

  9. I have this ordered, so I might be wrong. In reading about the DAC100 it stats that you could hook up the audio/video outputs to you monitor for preview of your captures. Let me know if this work. Mine will not be here until next week.

  10. Scenelyzer Live lets you view as you capture, and It lets you pause the capture and restart the capture in the same file.

    Cheers

  11. That is good, because I have already downloaded Scenalyzer. Just waiting for the DAC. Do I need to download anything else? I want to have everything ready. I will probably playback the capture using Windows Media Player 9 for the time being. Will something else do it better?

  12. Once you have captured and have an avi file how do you put it on a dvd. Do you have to convert it and how do you do that? I'd like to burn it on a dvd and watch on my television. Still would like to use to use Power DVD2 since I have it already but can't get the video and audio right as posted in previous post. HELP!

  14. Captured again using Power VCR 2, the video is fine but the audio is choppy, still can't find the right settings. Anyone familiar with the DAC 100 and Power VCR 2 and could lend a guide or suggestions, I sure would appreciate it.Thanks!

  16. I have the DAC myself. I had the same type of problem. Sound stuttering was mine. I found that uninstalling my sound card drivers and reinstalling fixed it up.

Also, I found that half the software just doesn't do a good job. Try another.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  17. I think my issues are with the software that I am using to capture with. I tried using a trial version of Ulead Video Studio 7 and eveything works fine. So I guess that's what I'll have to buy. I was hoping not to have to purchase more software but it looks like I will have to anyway.Tried Magix's Movies to CD and DVD and the audio is gargled(I like that software-easy to use).
