I have an ATI AIW 128, running on a PII 400, 256 megs of ram.
I have ATI's multimedia center setup so that it captures into the the exact right size and bitrate for a vcd (352x240, 11500 kbps), then just merge all the files togeater with the "MPEG Tools" in TQMPEG (I found that if you just select "VCD" in the dropdown of the merge window, and add all of your mpeg clips, tq will do a VERY quick job of making the mpeg ready for burning. It takes about 10 minutes to do the merge/convert an entire Dr Who episode if I record directly into a 352x240 mpeg at 11500 kbps. But I digress. basically I"m saying yes I know what I'm doing, yes the computer is turned on
Anway no matter what I try, the sound is very faint when I put it in my stand alone player (or on my computer), and I have to crank the volume.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Azephrahel

Try capturing the audio through your soundcard instead of the audio inputs on the AIW. You'll need an RCA to 1/8" adapter if you don't already have one lying around.
I'm not sure why it happens, but I've had the same problem with my older AIW Pro.
