will someone please explain the noise reduction filter and what the settings do... i was curious about this because my vcds look good, but in high action scenes the person moving will look kinda grainy is the best way to describe it. i was wondering if this could "smooth out" the action scenes.
oh yeah, and ghost reduction... what the hell is that???![]()

TMPGEnc's Noise Reduction Filter is a VERY useful filter for me, personally, although it adds ALOT of time toward the encoding process. For *any* capture I use this filter to smoothen out the 'noisy blocks'. It works incredibly great for my animation cartoon captures like Simpsons and Family Guy. =)
Here's a link (from a section of VCDHelp.com) that you shall find useful - http://www.vcdhelp.com/dazzlecapture.htm#filters

Your are talking about TMPGs noise reduction?
Use the settings 25/1/20 High quality and it will look good
in the most cases.
If your settings are too high e.g. faces will look like faces after the use of tons of make-up.
Ghost artifact is too difficult to explain in English . I am from Germany. -
I believe Ghost Artifact Reduction is made especially for people capturing from home videos. When you use a camcorder, it sometimes records some 'ghost-shadow' type picture. And using this filter in TMPGEnc will remove.
-This is just an assumation- -
