  1. I have a 3 SVCD's that I am trying to reauthor to put on One DVD....The file is 480x480 PAL....when I try to author it using TMPENC DVD Author..it tells me its not correct resolution, etc...then I go to TMPEGENC to encode it as NTSC with corrected resolutions..

Get message that TMPENC does not Support the file and won't do it...

Not sure why or what I am doing wrong...appreciate any help

    Many thanks

  2. It's likely that you're experiencing the same issue I ran into while using TMPEGEnc. My troulbe seemed to stem from the fact the file is a MPEG 2 format (SVCD), and TMPEGEnc didn't have an MPEG 2 listed under VFAPI Plug in list. I had Netshow and a compliant MPEG 2 codec, but it still didn't work. At any rate, I found an MPEG 2 plugin that helped.

    Head over to: http://www.digvid.info/software/index.php?progid=1&action=details

    And download "m2v_vfp-0.5.25.zip"

Run the "m2vconf.exe" then exit. Next fire up TMPEGEnc and go to, Options, Environemtla Settings, VFAPI Plugin. Change the "MPEG 2 video plugin" to the highest priority.

Let me know if this works.

There is an Mpeg2 plug-in for TMPGenc available in the Tools section.

  5. Guys read his post carefully.

The guy wants to put SVCD mpeg to one DVD±R.
This is not possbible, because SVCD is not a DVD±R compliant.

I hope you haven't made your SVCD, because i would suggest you to make CVD instead of SVCD, because CVD is DVD±R compliant which means you could burn them on your DVD±R.

    To make CVD:

    -Open TMPGEnc
-choose SVCD templete (pal or NTSC or NTSC-film depends on your file source)
    -Load your movie (click next)
    -under right corner click settings
    -change size from 480 X 480 to 352 X 480 for NTSC , 352 X 568 for PAL
-Go to Audio Tab ( change audio freq from 44100 to 4800 Hz )
-Go to GOP structure tab ( change MAX GOP in a frames to 18)
    -check or activate 'closed GOP'

Than you can convert your movie to CVD.

I have done this with 4 movies already.. they all works fine on DVD+R

  6. Thanks for the relies..but still have a problem getting TMPEGENC to recognize the mpeg2 file...I followed instructions given by HeavyKrush..at least I think I did but still wont recognize it...

I extracted all files from the plug in...ran the m2vconf.exe .. left all settings the way they come up...then loaded TMPEGENC..went to enviromental settings and raised mpeg2 video to highest level...

still no go...what did I miss?

  7. Nick,

I guess I'm a little confused. Exactly what type of file are you trying to load into TMPEGENC? If you're not sure, head over to this web site: http://avicodec.duby.info/ and download AVICodec. Use thos program to get the details of the video file you're working with. Copy the details for the video portion to this post and I'll try and see what's up.

I'm not sure about the latest version of the plugin but in the older version the m2v.vfp and the m2vconf.exe icons had to be together in a separate folder when you click on the m2vconf.exe icon to install it. Also make sure that the mpeg2 plugin has a priority of one. When you install it I think it initially has a priority of zero.

Run your SVCD MPEG-2 file through DVD2AVI. This will split out the audio and give you a D2V project file. TMPGEnc should have no trouble at all reading the D2V project file. If for whatever reason it does then you can use an AVISynth AVS script to read the D2V file.

This is much easier than trying to get TMPGEnc to accept the MPEG-2 file directly.
