how to capture video using dv/firewire using virtual dub
is there anyother software we can capture using dv/firewire from digital camcorder

I use WinDV myself. It's more configurable and has more features than DVIO, and is still free. Scenalyzer Live is also a good capture tool, but is not free (it's fairly cheap though).
Whatever you use, capture to Type 2 AVI and VirtualDub will be able to read the file. You will also need to install a DV codec, such as those available from Mainconcept or Canopus. -
thanks, i got windv, it is simple, but picture is not clear, picture is like have a water effect with waves, NOT CLEAR AT ALL... what to do? i tried capturing in adobe premier also same watery picture...?????
and i am not sure about dv codecs, installed or not, can this bad pic be because of this? -
DVIO webpage doesn't seem to open, if u have file i will appreciate if u can send it.
what about the watery fuzzy picture, any ideas.
plz help. very annoying....
