If I record from a digital cable box with S Video out to my S-VHS VCR. Then transfer into my PC via S-Video Cable and Adaptec VideoH!!! PCI card. Will my finished DVD look better than had I used all RCA cables through all these steps.
In other words, does S-Video really make a big difference when recording? or is the composite cables the best I am capable of with VCR recording?

S-video is better, it has better noise immunity than composite.
Whether you will see a difference depends on the amount of noise around your VCR and how good your television is.
Besides, S-video cables don't really cost much. So, if your hardware supports it, I would use it!Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
S-Video is better, but you can increase your quality even more by connecting your cable box directly to your PC.

I never thought of connecting the cable box directly to the comp via s-video. That's brilliant. Im such a ditz to not think of that. Thanks for the info guys. I will try it.
