    Can anyone help me.I have just got a new 105 yesterday,installed it and burned about 7 dvd-r.When i later came to the drive Win XP did not recognise the 105 or my DVD-ROM?The 105 would not open the drawer whrn the button was pressed or do anything else.Anybody have any ideas?

  2. open your computer and see if the power/ide cables are connected.. see if either drives show up in your bios.. try changing ide/power cables.. restart computer.. etc..

    Thanks for the reply jeex.I have tried all that so much that i am convinced that the drive is dead.Nothing at all works on it and i have also fitted another 105 drive and it woks,cannot understand why i would be able to burn a few discs and then kapput.

    Try switching to another power lead, switching the ide cable as well. If neither of those work then the drive is kapoot!! Hope you have the reciept...

    I have installed another 105 on the same cable and chanel and it works!Thus bringing me to the conclusion it is the drive.

  10. What kind of motherboard are you running,chipset ? Are the jumpers set on the drives ?

    Its a Biostar m7vib board and the jumpers on the writer were correct.As i said in previous posts i put another 105 in straight away and it works perfect
