I've been looking to get a new card for capturing video from vhs and or Satellite and wondered what will work on my p3-733. I have a via chipset, 448 megs of ram, A fastrack 100 with 2 7200 RPM 30G Quantum drives in a striped raid config to capture to. What could I expect out of this using say an AIW Radeon 32DDR, a ATI Radeon 64DDR VIVO, or would a DVC 2 be a better bet? Any help would be appreciated. I'm also running 98SE at the moment but might change to 2000 if I have to.

Any ATI card should work fine. If you can splurge a little more you can get a Dazzle USB card. For video capture I'd saw the Radeon 32DDR will do just fine. I'm using an ATI 128 Rage Pro and am very happen with the results.

I have a ATI RAGE FURY PRO 32mb VIVO, and I'm very happy with it (plus it only cost about $65 USD) and I haven't had a frame drop on my shite p2 400mhz, 320mb ram, system.
Plus you get the best of both worlds Vi and Vo. -
Question, what format this card store the captured cideo in? AVI or MPG ? Also can it capture both NTSC and PAL signal?
