avi with divx 5 codec

help guys, am still stuck with this one. I have a file that has mp3 audio and divx5 pro codec. Running it thro spot shows i have codecs installed, but when I run it thro tmpg the video freezes into a loop at the beginning, yet audio plays as normal.

I posted on this the other day and was told to increase directshow to 2/3. Well this is set on 5 but it still fails.

Have run video through Vdub for bad frames,, there are none.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I only want to convert to svcd. I have also tried avi2svcd, but still it fails, why?

I'm having a similar problem using Tmpeng 2.59 PLUs . I have a bunch of Divx movies I want to convert to either VCD or SCVD but Tmpeng will not open any DIVX files. I changed the Direct draw setting to +2 like the author above I have another program which converts the divx movies fine except it won't keep the 16:9 widescreen format so the VCd has a 'squished' look.

If someone can tell me how to get Divx to load into TMPENG TIA . Or another encoder which will convert and keep the 16:9 widescreen format intact . There must be a way to do this.

Sorry should have stated that tmpg will encode the avi, but when it does encode the video is on a short 3 second loop at the beginning but sound works?

Could i be a corrupt codec?

Have also treid CCE but still no joy

Found the problem, download the new 5.05 codec works a treat!

I solved my prob by upgrading my Tmpenc Plus 2.59 to the new Version 2.513.53.162 which just came out today. Now I can load the divx movies for conversion. Just started one now & hopefully it will work ok
