AHHHH I was buying Verbatim Datalifeplus DVD-R from Buy.com for 2.15 a disc, now the price on the website has jumped up. I have been searching everywhere for this media, and it seems the prices have jumped up everywhere. Where do you any of you buy this media at. I tried pricegrabber, but the prices are outrageous.
The reason I go with verbatim is because I run a conversion bizness, and out of 300 DVD's burned, I have had none come back as not being able to play on the set-to player.
Is there any other high quality media that is out there in the price range of 2.15 and 2.50 a disc.
What really sucks for me right now, is that I ordered four 15 spindle packs before the price jumped up, and the package was misplaced by fed-EX. Its going to take a week to figure it out.
If the prices for Verbatim stay as high as they are now, then I will need some other media that is comparable in quality, and price. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Vizcaya

The best out there seems to be Apple media. That's expensive stuff, but if you can find it cheap, you're golden.
After that comes Ritek. From what I hear www.meritline.com has good deals on this media. Also, I have heard good things about Samsung Be-All media.
Then you have your Accus and Optodiscs.
And finally, you have Princo, which I would stay away from.
Actually, this board seems to dislike most Verbatim media, but if it works for you, you're all set.
So there you have it. -
I used apple media for a long time, very good. As far as Verbatim, as long as its DATALIFE PLUS its good. Over 300 burns , for 300 different customers, no problems, and I burn to the end of the disc everytime.
I will try ritek.
Thanks, I did find a online place that had Verbatims cheaper than the new price hike from buy.com
Check this out, I had stated that Fed-Ex had messed up my shipment of DVDrs, well get this, Buy.com ended up getting the package the next day, it was returned to them, They never contacted me. So today after getting a e-mail, they say they have my package, but they cannot remail it out, and that I need to re-submit my order. Thats right they will want me to resubmit the order at the 12 dollar increase per item. I am waiting for a e-mail back.
If buy.com does not honour the price I originally paid, then I wont be using them anymore. -
Rima sells Data Life Plus (Media ID MCC) with no markings, all silver, for $2.40 each in 50 packs. http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=R&Product_Code=1682&C...tegory_Code=GU
Beware of Verbatim Data Life (no Plus), they are made by a different company than the Data Life Plus. The Data Life's can be made by either CMC, and/or Ritek. The Life Plus's are made by Mitsubishi Chemical Company. If this doesn't bother you, goto your local Sam's Club, they're pretty cheap there.
Do you need inkjet printable, or do you thermal print?
The newish Samsung BeAll 4x media from Meritline is great quality. As soon as my current stock of Verbatim 2x runs out, I'll replace them with these. Since they burn at 2x on my A03, and of course 4x on my A05. These run $2.52 each in 100 packs http://www.meritline.com/nebe1dv45010.html -
Just checked BB's web site - I don't see any price increase. Still $29.99 for a 15 piece spindle. Try thenerds.net for the same thing for $25.84.
Since you do this stuff for money, stay away from the "off-brand" and unlabeled crap. A lot of it is pirate junk, and will end up costing you much more than the small price differential. -
I love the DataLifePlus CD-Rs and DVD-RWs they burn perfectly and always play without an hiccup in my players (Pioneer DV333 & Norcent DP300)...My burners love 'em too Pioneer DVD A05, HP8250 CD-RW and LG-8080B CD-RW....
However the DataLifePlus DVD-Rs burn great in my A05 but freeze constantly in my Pioneer player. My Norcent plays without problems....so because of this I am keeping away from Verbatim DVD-Rs but buy without regret their CD-Rs, CD-RWs and DVD-RWs... -
Thanks for all the replys to this. Is there anything negative about these Bealls DVD-Rs? I heard nothing but good things.
Oh, Buy.com is going to ship me my order, and they will honor the price.

I use the 2X silver/light purple disks and they work in all my players (JVC, Pioneer) including an old Panasonic 120 that give me problems with other media. I burn with A05, RecordNow Max. I'm to the point that every disc burns so well as far as compatibility that I no longer test view them anymore. And when I want to actually watch the DVD, no problem, flawless everytime.

Buy.com not BestBuy,
Prices I paid were 27.00 for a 15 spindle before,, Now the same thing is:
$47.98
Granted now they give you free shipping. Thats a 20 dollars increase.
