Can anyone point me towards a good tutorial to rip anime DVD's. They have multiple episodes on them, and I want to fit them on 1 DVD. Thanks for any help.

If you want to back up episodic discs there are several guides on how to do so. Do a search but basically popular choices including using either a transcoding program (DVD2One, DVDShrink, etc) or re-encoding (Instant Copy, DoItFast4u/DoCCEfast4U, etc).
DVDShrink is freeware and can found at http://www.doom9.org there are guies for backups and how to use each program here and at doom9. -
I was asking for specific guides which people think are the best. I know which sites I can find them from, but I would like to know people's opinions on which guide and process works the best.

I'm not sure which guides are the best. But I plan on doing something similar so I'm looking for guides also. I think its best to go over as many as possible and become familiar with all the terms and options.
here is one to start: http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/Episode_Guide.htm
Do you want to compress any of the files or do you plan on just picking specific episodes and filling the disc to maximum?
post which ever one you think is really helpful... -
Processing alot of episodes like this tends to kill quality as sometimes there are upwards of 3 hours plus on a disk.
I usually avoid box sets, when I do them however I tend to just rip out the audio and video and reauthor with DVDMaestro and a simple menu. A friend of mine actually gets screenshots of the menus and recreates them.
On the fast side it was recently suggested to me that I use DVDShrink to turn half the episodes into still frames, then after burning that turn the other half into still frames. This produces 2 dvds for each disk with working menus. The down side being the still frame video is still there.
I was looking for a way to remove the still frame video and replace it with something like a notice to insert disc 2, but I've not found anyone who knows how this can be done. -

Depends some on your encoder. I'd suggest no more then 2 hours per disc (so about 4 episodes) under most conditions, however if your using a good encoder such as say TMPGenc or better yet CCE to do the mpeg encoding using VBR instead of a constant bitrate them you might be able to fit as many as 6 without quality going completely to heck but basicly its usually assumed that 2 hours of video goes on a full dvd with 2 and a half to 3 hours being pushing it. However you can fit a bunch if you just dont care about their quality...

To replace those still frames with a notice to go to disc 2... I'd imagine you could author with DVD Shrink, have it not actually burn, and then go in and monkey with those "still frame vobs" with some other program... I'll be giving it a shot shortly, so we'll see.

The problem with shriking it down that far with a simple one click solution is 4 hours of video on a DVD looks REALLY bad. What everyone would like to have happen is a one click that can replace half the episodes with notices to insert disc 2. then repeat for the last half and have it say insert Disc 1. I already suggested a fuction like this to the DVDshrik guy, but who knows if it will ever see the light of day as a feature. In the mean time if someone else figured out a way to replace the video in a PGC with a stand along program without alot of hassel that would be devine.
